We're celebrating the Library's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge with a special Doodler’s Art Club competition, inspired by
MUSIC IN ART
Pick up your pencils, paint, or digital tools to create your own artwork inspired by your favourite song, musical instrument, or artwork in the Gallery's collection... then tell us how music inspires YOU to be creative.
Create your artwork in your own realistic, abstract, colourful, detailed, or imaginative style. Use any medium of your choice, such as drawing, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media. There’s no right or wrong way!

Grab your competition pack from Saturday 11th July in the newly reopened Library, then hand your finished masterpiece to the Library team before the competition closes on Friday 11th September.
Who can enter?
Children of primary and secondary school age from age 5 – 16.
How many artworks can I enter?
Each participant can enter one artwork.
How to enter
The competition is running from Saturday 11th July – Friday 11th September.
Collect your pack from Kettering Library front desk or download a printable copy here
You can use the template provided in the pack to create your artwork or submit your own work. Works must be size A4 or smaller.
Your artwork must clearly include your full name, age and email address.
Hand your finished masterpiece to the library team for a chance to win an art prize and chance to have your work on display!
Collection of artworks
You can collect your artwork from Kettering Library after the competition. We will contact you individually and update our socials to let you know when this is, once we have judged the submissions and announced the Winners.
Prizes
First Prize: Winners will receive an art materials bundle to the value of £30, plus a pack of Summer Holidays activity worksheets and a Doodler’s certificate from the Gallery.
Runner Up: Winners will receive an art materials bundle to the value of £10, plus a pack of Summer Holidays activity worksheets and a Doodler’s certificate from the Gallery.
